I finished the New York Hat that I was making for myself! I was having a hard time taking a picture of myself, so the second picture is a bit blurry…

In other news, my youngest sister, Katie, had her 6th birthday yesterday. We had a little family party for her sunday afternoon, and it fell upon me to make her birthday cake. I made her a “Pooh-bear cake” (picture here) the last two birthdays, so this year she felt lake a change and requested a “Kitty Cake.”
Voila:

I was frustrated because I experienced many setbacks during the construction of this cake, mainly the lack on the proper tool and things of that nature. Consequently, the cake looked a bit… sloppy. Katie loved, though, and that’s what really counts.
I hope I can pull off my other sister, Rachel’s, request for a cake with 18 roses with the same good result. (It will be her 18th birthday on the 27th.)
