I decided to frog the hoodie. The yarn really wasn’t playing nice with the pattern and I felt like I was going to be disappointed with the finished product. I am going to try it again with yarn that was recommended by the pattern: mohair.
As for the Lillehammer hat, It came out HUGE; way bigger than I anticipated. My guage was right, too. I don’t know what happened, but it’s quite disappointing because Ryan really wants that hat. Ryan doesn’t usually “really want” knitted things, so I have to take this chance to knit something for him while I can. Maybe after I recover from the trauma of knitting almost the whole thing and then having to frog, I will try it again.
