Happy Valentine’s Day

He’s a very sweet husband. I don’t like to make a big deal about Valentine’s day, mainly because I think it’s waaaay over commercialized. But… I love it when Ryan brings me flowers, especially non-rose type flowers. We also went out for dinner at our favorite restaurant: India Palace. Mmmmmmmm.

In knitting news, I started a pair of Mock Croc Socks for my sister, Lolly. I was thinking that 60 stitches seemed like a tiny amount to cast on, but the stitch pattern is crazy stretchy and it seems to be working just fine. Even though usually I don’t like knitting socks from the top down, I’m really loving the process of knitting these socks. I’m also really loving the new Knit Picks Essential sock yarn. I bought some a little over a year ago and it was definitely not nice. It was rough and scratchy. Now, though, it is really soft and squishy! What do you know…

I modified the pattern to use a short row heel and I plan to try a star toe. I would like to say that it’s just because I’m adventurous or whatever, but it’s really because I’m lazy; I hate grafting and picking up stitches.

About Jessi

I'm married. I'm a mom of two. I love dogs and almost all other animals. I like to think about things for a long time. I like all crafts (except scrapbooking. ugh.) I like running. I like cooking and baking. I analyze everything. I stress out too much. I like coffee. I love having a husband that tells me to chill out. I'm thankful for a God that loves me in spite of my many failures.
