Best of 2009?

I decided (very, very late in the game) to do this blog challenge, “The Best of 2009.” I will not be starting from the beginning, but I will go ahead and do December 25th and 26th today. (Don’t worry, I’ll keep it short.)

December 25 Gift. What’s a gift you gave yourself this year that has kept on giving?

That I gave myself….. It would honestly have to be my beautiful, blue socks. I’m not just saying that because this is a knitting blog. I guess either the socks must be totally awesome or I just don’t give myself gifts very often.

December 26 Insight or aha! moment. What was your epiphany of the year?

Now this is embarrassing. It was definitely the moment when I realized that the reason that my biscuits have never been good is because I have been over-kneading them. I have agonized over my stupid, hard biscuits for years and it was a glorious realization when I discovered the problem. (It’s really easy to over-knead. I don’t really knead at all anymore. I just kind of smush the dough once or twice, then pat it out and cut.)

Knitting/Christmas photos to come! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I know I did!

I'm married. I'm a mom of two. I love dogs and almost all other animals. I like to think about things for a long time. I like all crafts (except scrapbooking. ugh.) I like running. I like cooking and baking. I analyze everything. I stress out too much. I like coffee. I love having a husband that tells me to chill out. I'm thankful for a God that loves me in spite of my many failures.
