100th blog post!

Yes, my blog has reached it’s 100th post. Congrats, blog, for reaching such an important (I guess) milestone.

Anyway, on to the real post. I finished some lovely, felted slippers for my mom. This is the second pair of slippers I have made for her from this pattern. The first pair were completely worn out, which I consider to be a great compliment. She tells me they were the comfiest slippers she has ever worn. (Thanks, Mom!) So I made her a new pair, this time with some pretty embroidery. They are actually a reeaally late Christmas present from last year that I just now finished. Better late than never, I guess.

The pattern is Fiber Trends Felt Ballet Slipper, which is apparently available as a .pdf now. Who knew? I have the hard copy, which is getting a bit worn out now. I have made 4 pairs of slippers from it (6 if you count the frogged ones… haha). The yarn is Patons Classic Wool Tweeds in “Aran Tweed.”

And a close-up of the toe embroidery:

I am mildly amused that I’m knitting felted, wool slippers while the heat index is 107….. I call it wishful thinking.
